Sri Lanka 2015 & 2018

I made two separate trips to visit Nineteen48’s mining operations. 2015 was the first trip where I was introduced to the Sri Lankan sapphire market and sourcing. Nineteen48 is one of the few companies operating directly out of Sri Lanka practicing responsible and transparent gem sourcing. In 2018 I was able to make a second trip to observe their cutting operations as well.
